The Season of Creation is the annual Christian celebration of prayer and action for our common home. Together, the ecumenical family around the world unites to pray and protect God’s creation. The season starts 1 September, the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, and ends 4 October, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of ecology beloved by many Christian denominations.
This year we will be uniting around the theme, “A HOME FOR ALL? RENEWING THE OIKOS OF GOD.” Oikos is the Greek word for “home,” or “household.” By rooting our theme in the concept of oikos, we celebrate the integral web of relationships that sustain the well-being of the Earth.
This year’s symbol, Abraham’s tent, signifies our commitment to safeguard a place for all who share our common home, just as Abraham did in the Book of Genesis.
In our Don Bosco Cambodia, as a member of the Don Bosco Green Alliance, we want to participate in the global celebration of the Season of Creation with an event in Don Bosco Kep Province on October 2 to 3, 2021. But during all the season, we will put the Tent of Abraham near the Brother Sun cross of Saint Francis de Sales that is located near the seaside of the school. During the Season we want to pray with our children, youth and teachers near the tent for our Common Home and for the needed in Cambodia, our country.
The program on October 2 and 3 is this one:
Season of Creation Don Bosco Kep Camping.
Participants:
Thursday, August 26 at 9am meeting with Managers to plan the event.
Sun Children & Youth of Don Bosco Kep Oratory & Don Bosco Green Alliance.
Venue: Don Bosco Kep Kiosk and Saint Francis of Assisi Cross.

Program:
1st September: Official opening of the Abraham Tent at the Brother Sun cross near the Don Bosco Kep seaside.
SATURDAY OCTOBER 2: ABRAHAM TENT.
- 2pm: Conference about Mother Earth as our Common Home and Creation of God.
- 3pm: Season of Creation Workshop:
- Personal compromise / what I do for my common house.
- Community compromises / what we can do for our common house.
- 4pm: Planting activity and sea cleaning.
- 6pm: Holy Mass.
- 7pm: Dinner.
- 8pm: Season of Creation Bonfire at the Abraham Tent: Cultural Program and Meditation until 12m.
SUNDAY OCTOBER 3: SONG OF THE CREATURES OF SAINT FRANCIS OF ASSISI.
- 7am: Breakfast.
- 8am: Conference about the song of creatures.
- 9am: Walk to the hills and an act of charity.
- 11am: Back to the camp.
- 12m: Lunch.
- 1pm: Season of Creation certifications and compromises.
