Some practical guidance for applications
If you live far from the school, come during the first days.
Remember to bring all your personal documents: family book, school certificate (9th – 12th grade), the form of application (soon it will be published on the websites) and the guard.
If you come from an orphanage or you are recommended by a NGO, please bring a letter from your organization. The letter introduces you to Don Bosco saying who are you and why you should study in Don Bosco. The letter of an organization will help you during the interview, but it will not guarantee you pass the exam.
Please be sure what are you going to apply. Get enough some information about the studies and show during the interview the reasons you want to study that topic.
The technical schools are not schools for study English or computer. There are plenty of English and computer schools in Cambodia where you can study in short courses. In the Don Bosco sections you will study some computer and English lessons, in some sections more than others. If you say during the interview that you come because you want to study English and computer, you will probably lost scores.
Take care for your age: you must be between 17 and 24 years old. If you are doing 12th grade now, but you are 25, you still can apply, because you are in a continues process. If you finish 12th grade five years ago and you are not 26, your probability to be accepted will be small.
Remember: Don Bosco keeps the right to accept a new student. The criteria is a young person from poor communities. If you seems to be able to pay a University, you will not be accepted. Keep the place for the poor, help your own country.
Trying to give money or special gifts to positions in order to get in, means you will be dismissed immediately.
Please…
If your organization is sending some candidates to the school, please write down a letter. A member of the organization can come with the candidates. During the interview, explain their origin. If the applicants are accepted for the exam, it is already their try.
Please do not call to the Salesians or teachers working in the selection during the time of interviews, exams and list publication. We understand you want to assure your candidate get in, but it is actually unfair to many others who have not a person or organization in charge of them. If you need to send special details about a candidate by email, please do it to management@donboscokhmer.org before the interviews time. Some number phones will be closed during the time.
The schools have a limited number of places for new students. After the publication of the list, there is the awaiting list. It means candidates that are suitable to be selected if the ones of the first list do not come for inscription or someone does not come in October. It is usually a hope for some applicants. Wait for it.
