Fr. John Bosco Theparat Pitisant new Thailand, Cambodia, Laos Provincial
Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, the Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, has appointed Fr. John Bosco Theraparat Pitisant as the 16th Provincial of the Saint Paul Salesian Province that include works of Thailand, Cambodia and Laos (THA Province), according to the announcement of present Fr. Provincial Paul Prasert Somngam before Christmas. It is the second term of Fr. Theraparat as Salesian Superior for the period 2017-2023 (the first one was 2006-2010). The official installation Eucharist will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 10 AM at the Saint John Bosco Church in Bangkok.
To him goes our best congratulations and cordial thanks for accepting this important assignment in the spirit of service for the mission entrusted to our Province. We assure him of our wholehearted collaboration and of our prayers so that he can carry out this new assignment with the best of his abilities, wrote Fr. Prasert in his announcement from Bangkok.
Fr. Therapharat Pitisant was born on June 11, 1951 and was ordained priest on June 6, 1982. At the moment he is the superior at the Hua Hin Vithayalai School. During his first period as Provincial, he made three canonical visitations to the Salesian presences of the Kingdom of Cambodia, supporting the development of the Projects and encouraging the initiatives of social communication.
