Don Bosco Phnom Penh student, Eang Kavey, won the first place at the National Skill Competition and will represent Cambodia at the end of October in Vietnam.

In line with the movement of the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training (MOLVT) toward Public Private Partnership, Asian Economic Community (AEC) 2015 and Asean Standard, the Department of National Competency Standard organized a National Skill Competition last July 18-22, 2014. The competition were in the fields of Electric Welding, IT Solution for business, brick layer construction and electrical system. Students and young workers from the public and private sectors of the Cambodian society with ages 18 to 22 years old were free to join in the competition. Don Bosco Technical School Phnom Penh dared and took the challenge of sending Mr. Eang Kavey to participate in the electrical welding. With only a month of preparation Mr. Eang Kavey won the first place with a rating of 91.65 over another two contenders from another school and company.

On October 9, 2014 the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training in the person of His Excellency It Somheng, Minister of MOLVT, awarded a gold medal and a cash of 3,000,000 riels to Mr. Eang Kavei and to each winner in other skills.

Mr. Eang Kavei together with other winners will represent the Kingdom of Cambodia in the Asean Skill Competition in Hanoi City, Vietnam come October 24-26, 2014. He will be accompanied by Mr. Pho Veth, Manager of Mechanical Department. Now a higher dream begins.
