PHNOM PENH – A Colombian man has been in Cambodia for more than 20 years to help Cambodian youth through the training of underprivileged and underprivileged young people in college, getting technical skills and making young people count. Tens of thousands and receive a new light of life.

He came to Cambodia as a Catholic (Christian) priest and also managed the Don Bosco Technical School in Cambodia. Khmer, and he also loved the Cambodian territory, the Cambodian people, especially the youth of Cambodia, and wanted very much Cambodian citizenship in his life.

Mr. Ly Samnang, or Youth in Technology School, is also the Inspector General of Don Bosco Technical School in Kep. He has been in Cambodia since late 1999 and has helped educate tens of thousands of young Cambodians to this day through education, morals and technical skills.

Samnang really wants Khmer citizenship to have the same rights as the Khmer people because he loves and enjoys the Cambodian people and Cambodian territory. In 2016, Cambodia’s Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen visited the Don Bosco Technical School in Kep and met with Mr. Ly Samnang. Notably, the prince asked Lee Samnang where his wife and children were.

Samnang replied that the students in the school were his children but he did not have a wife, meaning he could not marry his wife, but according to the Catholic tradition, he was called a “father.” That of a Catholic priest.

Mr. Samnang or Mr. Albeiro Rodas has indicated that throughout his life, if he attains Khmer nationality, he would be happy and motivated to train and help poor young people in Cambodia, but even now he is not. Despite his nationality, he still strives to educate young Cambodians about the skills needed to support their families and develop Cambodia.

Ly Samnang also wrote a letter and sought intervention to Samdech Techo to get Khmer citizenship, in which he stated that as a Christian, he had no personal wealth or money. He has provided many things for children and youth since his arrival in Cambodia. In October 2020, he is only 50 years old, and he feels more and more in love with Cambodia, enjoying living in Cambodia.
