Young Cambodian Salesians get diploma
SAMPRAN – Thailand. Br Somony and Br John Nary got their BA in Philosophy at the Saengtham College in Sampran, Thailand this month. They are the first Cambodian Salesians that are currently doing philosophical studies at the Salesian Samphran Community. “These studies help me to improve my knowledge and the way of philosophy thinking. In my Salesian life, it can be use to organize my daily duties and, the most important, it approaches me to become a Salesian priest,” said Br Somony.
“Thank to God for all His blessing to me, for all His blessing through the people around me. Thanks to Thai Salesian Province for giving me a chance to study in Saengtham College. Thanks the Salesian Samphran Community for the support and help in everything I need and thanks to all the people who have the part of helping me in my Salesian vocation. The Blessing will never end when we have the gratitude. Life is a journey that never ends. This graduation is just a step of succeed in learning but the learning itself is alway going on, even if we are not at school,” said Br Somony.
Br Nary wrote on his Facebook page on the occasion of his grade:
Dear friends…! Graduation of college is not the end: It’s the beginning! Anything is possible when we just believe in God and in yourself. Step into future with a prayer in our heart and we’ll soon reap the fruits of our efforts and hard work!
Br Somony is from Pursat Province and he finished Technical studies at Don Bosco Technical School of Phnom Penh before joining the Salesian Congregation of Don Bosco, being also an instructor of Automotive in Don Bosco Poipet. Br Nary is from Kampot Province and finished Technical studies at Don Bosco Sihanoukville. Both of them became the first Cambodian young men to become Salesians after they finished their novitiate in Don Bosco Sampran, Thailand.
