Hua Hin – Thailand. The THA Salesian Province that includes 1 presence in Laos, 2 Salesian communities in Cambodia and different educative and pastoral projects in Thailand, is gathering in the Salesian Retreat House of Hua Hin, 200 kilometers at the south of Bangkok, for the 2016’s Provincial Chapter with the assistance of 31 delegates. The meetings began this Monday, March 28 and conclude on April 1 under the slogan “Implementing of the General Chapter 27 and Reshaping the Salesian Presences of the Provinces“.
A Provincial Chapter is a special gathering of the Salesians of a Province, the administrative religious unit that includes educative and pastoral works in a determined territory under the leadership of the Provincial Superior. The THA or Saint Paul Salesian Province includes Thailand, Cambodia and Laos. The Salesians of Don Bosco arrived in Thailand in the 1930s, in Cambodia in 1991 and in Laos during the first decade of the 21st century.
The 2016’s Provincial Chapters around the work were invited by Fr. Ángel Fernández, Rector Major of the Salesians, in a letter sent to all world province superiors, where he underlined two main goals: the implementation of the General Chapter 27 and the reshaping of the Salesian presences in the different provinces.
